Glacier Ice

Yesterday we moored in Petersburg to hopefully find parts for the outboard. Sadly the parts we replaced didn’t fix the issue so we bought oars to match the vintage of the vessel.

While Sara and Wade waited for Justin to finish transferring fuel and preparing the boat today they met a lovely man named Frank that helped us the jig for herring and smelt. He also taught us to salt filets for bait and rig the herring for silver salmon.

We took off mid day to Laconte Glacier. We tried to do a Facebook live stream but the connection failed. We’ll try and post a few pictures and videos on social media. After all the pictures taken no picture captured the electric blue that the glacier glowed.

We used a crane to lift out some ice. How long do you think it will take to melt?

Tomorrow is an early morning through the Wrangle Narrows also known as Christmas tree narrows for all of the red and green buoy markers used to navigate the restrictive channel.

Cheers,

Wade, Sara, Justin, and Jeff
