Alcohol is not legal per se but locals ferment the liquid sugar tapped out of the palm tree, called toddy, to make sour toddy. This beverage taste like a Boons Farm wine, but can really make you silly. We later learned from another cruiser, that spit is the yeast that causes the fermentation. Haha, we both wish we knew that before we had a sip.
