Doldrums

We are in the doldrums as our weather forecast has accurately predicted. We realize that we should not dwell on what has happened in the past, but it is very annoying to pull the weather each day and see if we would have not been detained by the crazy man in Daniel’s Bay we would be sailing and staying ahead of the vortex of no wind that we are currently in.

We finished another audio book today and filled our fuel tank. We estimate we are burning approximately eight tenths of a gallon in diesel an hour motor sailing. Hopefully this will get us within 50 miles of the 7 degree latitude, which is, where we anticipate turning towards Hawaii. There is a short prediction for light southerly winds so we might have a chance to spinnaker and give the motor a rest.

Cheers just shy of the equator,

Wade and Sara
